yesterday (as a pre-pre-birthday festivity) my little posse and i made the trek up to mt. hood (about 80 miles away from downtown portland) where, even in the middle of summer, there is still snow on the ground.

road trip!

me,
fraxl, james, ben.

sneaky mountain: approaching mt. hood from the highway.

ph0enixinflight holds our cameras.

there was a lot of this.

from mt. hood. snow!

the view, looking out.

"look, y'all, snow!"

james in snow.

snow bunnies!

ph0enixinflight.

snow and mmmountains!

ben, imaginary snowboarding.

what you cannot see is the rock i am standing on, which i am declaring myself the queen of (?). don't ask.

playing in snow.

snowball!

girl snowboarder!

timberline lodge (used as the overlook hotel for exterior shots in the shining).

our clan from the second level of the lodge.

picnic in the woods.
