you're totally right. though i was confused, thinking this in my head: com·pul·sion P Pronunciation Key (km-plshn) n. The act of compelling. The state of being compelled. An irresistible impulse to act, regardless of the rationality of the motivation: “The compulsion to protect the powerful from the discomfort of public disclosure feeds further abuse and neglect” (Boston Globe).
i know but compulsory is an entirely different word.
it reminds me of when kurt loder was talking to jewel about how she used casualty in a poem when she meant "casualness." and she was arguing with him about it
LODER: There's a line you have, 'There are nightmares on the sidewalks/there are jokes on TV/ there are people selling thoughtlessness with such casualty.' Casualty doesn't mean that, does it? Casualty's like a guy gets his arm blown off. I mean isn't that... JEWEL: That's a type of casualty. LODER: What? JEWEL: It's a type of casualty that ... LODER: No, really. I thought you were trying to say casualness. JEWEL: No, casualty. LODER: Oh, OK. All right. Are you a tech person? Do you take computers on the road, do you log on, e-mail? JEWEL: No, I'm a bit archaic. I mean, I still write everything by hand. It's quite archaic. LODER: Wow. JEWEL: It is wow. I'm dyslexic as heck. I mean, I just can't type well. LODER: Really? That'd be a problem for a writer. JEWEL: It is a bit of problem. I mean, putting the book together. Everything was done by hand. I had to recopy it legibly to get it... LODER: That explains casualty probably.
this doesn't put the part in where she says "NEXT QUESTION really rudely to kurt after "no casualty"
yeah. i always think of this when people use the wrong word entirely and try to keep myself from doing so by frequent use of the dictionary.com website. other people prefer m-w.com but it's habit for me to check dictionary.com
I drink my body weight in diet coke on a regular basis.... something about the berries and cream seems weird. But if it's actually tasty, I might have to try it.
DIET COKE was my old skin. this tastes, to me, like creme soda dr pepper. i don't taste any berry, and certainly not raspberry [not one of my favorite flavors].
get it from 7-11 where you can just try ONE...see what you think :)
